Overview

The SoCal Cup: Winter Formal is a three-day 12U-18U boys event held December 12-14, 2025, at the Los Angeles Convention Center in Los Angeles, California. This AAU-sanctioned event requires all participants to be members of AAU.

  • Tournament registration does not guarantee acceptance into the event. Acceptance into the event is only granted once the tournament entry fee has been received.

Prohibited Items

  • Security & Safety:
    • Firearms, knives, weapons of any kind, fireworks, mace, pepper spray, and anything deemed a weapon by management are prohibited.
  • Food & Beverage:
    • Outside food, beverages, coolers, and glass/metal containers are generally prohibited.
  • Other:
    • Large bags or luggage, personal seating or outdoor chairs, aerosol cans, drones, flashlights, large banners/flags, laser pointers, noise-making devices, sticks/poles, umbrellas, pets (other than service animals)and anything else deemed inappropriate by the event organizers are prohibited.

If a team needs to be removed from a tournament due to certain circumstances, please fill out the form below. Once this form is completed, please send to info@socalcupvolleyball.com. Once SoCal Cup has received and approved the club's removal form, the individual team will be removed from the tournament. If more than one team from a club can no longer participate in the tournament, please submit more than one form (one form per team).

If a team(s) removal form is submitted and received 30 days prior to the tournament start date, a refund will be given to the team(s) and removed from the tournament. If a team(s) removal form is submitted and received less than 30 days prior to the tournament start date, no refund will be given and the team(s) will be removed from the tournament.

Join us at the Winter Formal College Showcase on Thursday, December 11th, one day prior to the Winter Formal, for the opportunity to play in front of top college coaches.

REGISTER HERE! 

  • Acceptance for all divisions is first-come, first-served determined by the date and time a team completes all Tournament Entry requirements, until available space is filled or November 14th, 2025, whichever comes first.
  • Tournament Entry will not be accepted until payment for the tournament has been received. 
  • If the division is filled prior to completing payment for the team, they will be waitlisted for the next available spot.
  • Teams will also be moved to the waitlist if payment is not completed by the payment deadline or until the division reaches capacity.
  • Teams that are on the waitlist and have completed payment, but were unable to fill a spot in the event, we will honor a refund for the team.
  • Roster Deadline: 12/11/2025 at 9:00PM PST
  • Rosters have a max of 15 Players and 4 coaches per team.
  • All rostered individuals must have an AAU membership.
  • If you wish to sit on the bench during the matches, you must be on the roster for the team.
  • Roster changes that need to be made after the roster deadline has passed will require a $50 fee, cash only. This can be completed at the tournament desk.
  • Team check-in will be completed online through SportWrench. 
  • The check-in deadline: December 11th, 2025 at 9:00PM PST.
  • Credential Pick-up will take place all day December 12th starting at 6:30AM PST located in the South Hall lobby.
  • There will be no credential pick-up prior to the event start date or after the first day of the event.
  • All coaches and players must keep their credentials with them at ALL TIMES in order to go in and out of the tournament halls.

Ticket Information

  • All Spectators will require a ticket for admission into the event. No cash will be accepted at the door, all tickets are required to be purchased through SportWrench.
  • Children 2 years old or younger are free.
  • There are no senior or military discounts available. 

Spectator Code of Conduct

  • No Spectator shall persistently address a game official at any time. This includes but is not limited to:

    • Spectators shall not make derogatory comments to players of any team.
    • Spectators shall not dispute calls during or after the game.
    • Spectators shall not advise an official to watch certain players or attend to rough play.
    • Spectators shall not yell at the officials, EVER. This includes criticism, sarcasm, harassment, intimidation, discriminatory comments, or negative feedback of any kind before, during, or after the game.
  • The only allowable exceptions to addressing an official are:

    • Spectators may respond to an official who has initiated a conversation with a parent or attendee.
    • Spectators may point out an emergency or safety issues, such as a player injury or observed fighting.

Policy Violation

  • Any person not in compliance with the Code of Conduct will be removed from the event facility at the discretion of the SoCal Cup Tournament Staff, without admission refund, and cannot attend a SoCal Cup Volleyball event in the future, pending attendance reinstatement review.
  • SoCal Cup Volleyball may take any corrective action it deems appropriate to assure proper sportsmanship; the safety and well-being of all participants, spectators, officials and event staff; and the integrity and standards of the event. All teams, coaches, players, and spectators are subject to rulings and corrective actions.
  • Anyone discovered in possession of or consuming illegal drugs, alcohol, tobacco products, or e-cigarettes will be immediately expelled from the event. There are no warnings for possession or consumption of materials listed above for players or any other underage person whose name appears on the tournament roster. Expulsion will be immediate. Pets (other than service animals) and weapons of any kind will NOT be allowed in any event.

Travel accommodations on the final day of the event should be booked no earlier then 6:30PM.

This is NOT a Stay and Play event.

The SoCal Cup: Winter Formal tournament is licensed by AAU. All participants must have AAU memberships.

  • This requires:
    • Club Membership ($30 and covers an unlimited number of teams)
    • Player Memberships ($20 and covers all AAU sports/events through August 2026.
    • Adult Memberships for Coaches and Team Reps on the roster ($55 one year/$75 two years and includes the background check).
